NEW YORK (WWJ) — Grocery shopping can be a rather mundane activity — but that could be changing soon.
A New York location of Whole Food plans to offer customers cocktails at its in-store tap room, which already serves wine and beer.
“We will eventually utilize it to serve some unique cocktails and fun drinks that pair with our food in the tap room,” Whole Foods spokesman Michael Sinatra said.
According to DNAinfo, the West 59th Street store, which already serves wine and beer at its bar On Tap, won approval from Community Board 4 to serve spirits at the 40-seat venue. The store still needs approval from the State Liquor Authority before the license is official, Sinatra said.
Another Whole Foods location in Brooklyn’s Gowanus community tried to gain its liquor licence, but the local community board rejected the bid.
So far there are no plans for the any of the Detroit area locations to…
Cannabis grew in North America during prehistoric times perhaps brought here by early explorers and migrating birds. The Ancient Mound Builders’ archeological finds yielded evidence of clay pipes containing hemp wrapped in hemp cloth dating from about 400 B.C.
Marijuana seeds were brought to America from England in 1632 by the Pilgrims. By 1762, Virginia farmers were penalized for not growing this plant, as it was such an important useful and economic crop. George Washington grew it at Mount Vernon in 1765. He also pulled up the male plants which increases the potency of psychoactive female plants. Thomas Jefferson advised its cultivation. In 1850, marijuana was America’s third largest crop. Between 1840 and 1900 over a hundred published papers recommended Marijuana as medicine. The resin is most concentrated on the flowering tops of the female plants. Marijuana buds and leaves are smoked. Marijuana is not soluble in water as a tea, though is sometimes eaten in foods, though must be cooked in some type of oil for 15 minutes. Tincture of cannabis is used medicinally, though less psychoactive. Hashish is marijuana resin mixed with fat and honey and compressed into cakes.
Today we’re discussing how to get out of that sucky job you have and into the booming marijuana business in Denver. Well, it helps to know someone. In fact, it’s just like the bartending business — any business today, really. You need an in. Ours came in the form of a roommate — someone else’s roommate. After moving here from out of state to use his Horticulture degree in the medical marijuana business (and growing in our friend’s basement for a year or two), he asked my husband — who had been out of work for five months — if he’d like a position at the new location his company was setting up.
My husband said — YES!! I know — you’re surprised, aintcha?
So, he gussied up his resume and cover letter, and sent it on over. We are waiting to hear back now. In order to…
Denial of cannabis by Prohibition ‘law’ premeditatedly inflicts suffering, blindness, and, in many instances, death. Those who maintain any use of life-saving cannabis to be “illegal” should be regarded and treated as perpetrators of the gravest of crimes, and deemed unfit to hold any public office in a democratic society. The Report collates Empirical Evidence and the Findings of Fact of official clinical studies which exonerate cannabis and vindicate all cultivation, trade, possession and use. The Report establishes massive ulterior money-motive and prejury behind prohibition; and indicts government. The Report presents irrefutable Legal Grounds for Restoration: Relegalisation, Amnesty & Restitution.

The major drug laws of India are the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (1985) and the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (1985).
The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Bill, 1985 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 23 August 1985. It was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and it was assented by the President on 16 September 1985. It came into force on 14 November 1985 as THE NARCOTIC DRUGS AND PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES ACT, 1985 (shortened to NDPS Act). Under the NDPS Act, it is illegal for a person to produce/manufacture/cultivate, possess, sell, purchase, transport, store, and/or consume any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.
Under one of the provisions of the act, the Narcotics Control Bureau was set up with effect from March 1986. The Act is designed to fulfill India’s treaty obligations under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
The Act has been amended twice – in 1988 and 2001. The Act extends to the whole of India and it applies also to all Indian citizens outside India and to all persons on ships and aircraft registered in India.
The Act describes itself as “An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to narcotic drugs, to make stringent provisions for the control and regulation of operations relating to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, to provide for the forfeiture of property derived from, or used in, illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, to implement the provisions of the International Convention on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and for matters connected therewith.

“There are a few chemical reasons why the green makes you want to get it on. Cannabinoids dilate the blood vessels, for one, encouraging blood flow that in turn makes you more sensitive to touch and heat. When blood flows to your bits and pieces, well… you know what that does. Blood flow to the brain stimulates your greatest sex organ of all, encouraging sexy thoughts (increasing dopamine production, making you “feel better”) and the uninhibited acceptance of pleasure.”
