Marijuana : Since then, till now !

Cannabis grew in North America during prehistoric times perhaps brought here by early explorers and migrating birds. The Ancient Mound Builders’ archeological finds yielded evidence of clay pipes containing hemp wrapped in hemp cloth dating from about 400 B.C.

Marijuana seeds were brought to America from England in 1632 by the Pilgrims. By 1762, Virginia farmers were penalized for not growing this plant, as it was such an important useful and economic crop. George Washington grew it at Mount Vernon in 1765. He also pulled up the male plants which increases the potency of psychoactive female plants. Thomas Jefferson advised its cultivation. In 1850, marijuana was America’s third largest crop. Between 1840 and 1900 over a hundred published papers recommended Marijuana as medicine. The resin is most concentrated on the flowering tops of the female plants. Marijuana buds and leaves are smoked. Marijuana is not soluble in water as a tea, though is sometimes eaten in foods, though must be cooked in some type of oil for 15 minutes. Tincture of cannabis is used medicinally, though less psychoactive. Hashish is marijuana resin mixed with fat and honey and compressed into cakes.

The Cannabis : Life Saver & Its still Illegal.

Denial of cannabis by Prohibition ‘law’ premeditatedly inflicts suffering, blindness, and, in many instances, death. Those who maintain any use of life-saving cannabis to be “illegal” should be regarded and treated as perpetrators of the gravest of crimes, and deemed unfit to hold any public office in a democratic society. The Report collates Empirical Evidence and the Findings of Fact of official clinical studies which exonerate cannabis and vindicate all cultivation, trade, possession and use. The Report establishes massive ulterior money-motive and prejury behind prohibition; and indicts government. The Report presents irrefutable Legal Grounds for Restoration: Relegalisation, Amnesty & Restitution.

Current Drug Policy of India

Drug policy of India

The major drug laws of India are the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (1985) and the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (1985).

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Bill, 1985 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 23 August 1985. It was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and it was assented by the President on 16 September 1985. It came into force on 14 November 1985 as THE NARCOTIC DRUGS AND PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES ACT, 1985 (shortened to NDPS Act). Under the NDPS Act, it is illegal for a person to produce/manufacture/cultivate, possess, sell, purchase, transport, store, and/or consume any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.

Under one of the provisions of the act, the Narcotics Control Bureau was set up with effect from March 1986. The Act is designed to fulfill India’s treaty obligations under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

The Act has been amended twice – in 1988 and 2001. The Act extends to the whole of India and it applies also to all Indian citizens outside India and to all persons on ships and aircraft registered in India.

The Act describes itself as “An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to narcotic drugs, to make stringent provisions for the control and regulation of operations relating to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, to provide for the forfeiture of property derived from, or used in, illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, to implement the provisions of the International Convention on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and for matters connected therewith.

New Policy with a new Government !

India, has once again elected its new prime ministerial designate Mr.Narendra Modi to govern the country with a moolmantra “Less Government,More Governance”.

Well it’s quite apt that India is not going to refrain soon towards its drug policy underlaid years back by Rajiv Gandhi’s government. The maximum vote bank reflecting in the country’s current diaspora is of : YOUTH !

Indian youth has totally accepted the recreational and noble use of Marijuana. Manipur has it’s own state legislation upon marijuana so it’s sure that they are going to ‘tax’ it.

All we want is to bring back the days that used to be in 80’s ! Many children and adults hailing from far hills find marijuana useful for curing their daily ailments. The United States of America has already passed the Medical Marijuana bill that was raised by the council of secretaries of the state which resulted in cent percent legalization of Marijuana in Washington and Colorado. If you are in Denver,CO right now you can just buy a pack of Northern Lights Kush for $50 with no obligations.

That particular country is 100 years more developed than us and we are still in the comparative state. All our people do is curse the Westernization and be in dingy black sad country. Fuck !!

Cooking with weed

Even for experienced smokers, eating foods containing marijuana can be a whole new experience. It might the perfect solution for those who don’t want to smoke, or have trouble smoking, i.e. people with asthma. There are virtually no health risks, as you are not smoking and there is no subsequent damage to your respiratory system.

Cooking with Marijuana

Most weed-related recipes call for the making of a certain quantity of “Marijuana Butter” or “Bud Butter”, which is then used as a replacement for standard butter in a cooking situation. To prepare pot for eating it has to be heated in some way. It won’t work if the weed is eaten without preparation, because the digestive system is unable to digest THC directly. When cooking with weed, it is very important to use fat (oil, butter, milk) because THC (the stuff that gets you stoned) is fat soluble and not water soluble. It is therefore impossible to get high from pot tea, for example, without adding some milk.

How to make Bud Butter

Cooking with weed offers an alternative to inhaling marijuana smoke to get high. By using “Bud Butter” in your recipes you can consume the marijuana in a tasty way.

Here’s one recipe for Bud Butter:

Ingredients
1 lb. of butter (not margarine!)
1/2 ounce of finely ground marijuana

Method
Melt the butter in a sauce pan until it’s simmering.
Add the marijuana and let simmer for 30 minutes or so until the butter has turned green from the marijuana.
Pour butter through a strainer to remove all the pieces of marijuana.
Chill until solid.

What are the effects?

It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to even up to 4-5 hours for the effects to set in. The biggest problem here is to find the right amount. When smoked, the effects set in almost immediately, so it is easy to judge how much you need. After eating some weed, some users are too impatient, and they think they need more. While it is not possible to overdose on weed, the effects of eating too much cannabis are not pleasant. You may feel sick, confused, unable to move or talk, and your coordination may be heavily affected. These effects may last a long time, much longer than when smoked. It is therefore important not to eat too much. Start with a low dose, and increase it the next time, if needed. Experiment to find the right amount. If you eat too much, a high dose of vitamin c (200mg or more) may help to make you feel better.

When eaten, pot takes longer to work, depending on: the amount and quality of the weed/hash, the rate of your digestion system, and the amount of food you’ve eaten beforehand. For best results, we recommend not eating anything at least 2-3 hours before eating your marijuana.

How much weed do I use?

Since weed is not an “officially regulated” product it’s hard to recommend an amount to use as the strength of the weed will vary greatly. Many people prefer to use “cabbage,” or the leafy, low quality type of weed, in their cooking. Buds are usually reserved for smoking, but of course you’re free to cook buds, but any cooking disasters will be a lot more expensive!

Trial and error is your guide here. If you’re making bud butter, you might go through a few saucepans full of cabbage before the butter is green and smelly enough to be useful for cooking. It’s a good idea to note down how much you’ve used so you know for next time.

As a general guide, a mild dose using high quality cannabis, extracted properly into butter or oil, would be 0.5g. To get really high use 1g. So – 7 brownies=7 grams of cannabis.

So for a 14 brownie batch that gets everyone pretty high using 1g per person would be a half ounce. 28 brownies at .5 a gram, or buy a 1/4 of cannabis, make 7 1 gram brownies for 7 people, or 14 .5gram brownies. Image

Does smoking Marijuana makes you a bad person ?

Ofcourse Not, said the team leader of TGM when a boy asked him “I smoke weed every now and then. I have high moral values and am very intelligent. I feel somewhat guilty about smoking though, even though it relaxes me and helps to calm my nerves, does it makes me a bad person?

Here in this case the first party was the anonymous guy and the 2nd party was the TGM executive. But, what if , the same question was asked to some other guy or girl who is not a part of TGM?

Not to worry !

You will get two answers

The legalistic side: These people tell you that it is against the law and have absolutely no clue what marijuana actually is and just blindly follows the  governement on whatever they say. If it is illegal then it must be bad for you and others around you so if you smoke it you are a bad person and they judge you harshly for it even though they have never actually looked up anything about marijuana and dont know that it is 100% natural. All they know is that it is classified as a (schedule 1 <- seriously) drug so you should not have anything to do with it.

These people are not very educated and just listen to what people tell them

OR

You can get

The smart answers: The people that know that this is a 100% natural plant that grows naturally on our earth. You know that there is nothing wrong with this plant and even after heavy smoking (or any other form of ingesting THC) for a few years there is still nothing wrong with you based on THC alone. These people have done their research beyond what the government told them and were smart enough to realize that this “drug” is just like any other plant on our planet (arguable better at how green it is and the broad category of how many great uses this “drug” has) These are the people whose answer you should listen to because they know what they are talking about. They also realize that smoking weed is more healthy than alcohol and tobacco. Drugs that are still legal. (Actually a study shows that heroin and cocaine are safer than alcohol and tobacco. Honestly look up http://www.cannabisnews.com

No smoking weed does not make you a bad person. It makes you a smart person and all haters can gtfo because they dont know what they are talking about. The government tells you it is bad and they have no scientific evidence to back it up. It is still illegal though just because it was illegal before… Seems like a dumb reason. If you look up why this plant is illegal it is because it was threatening the lumber companies because 1 acre of hemp can produce 5 times the amount of paper as lumber can. So what do people do when something is threatening to take away their money? Well obviously they find a way to stop it even if it is better for everybody else they realize that they themselves wont make as much money so they team up with other companies (like dupont) and get the drug to be illegal. Then it continues with Nixon telling the country that marijuana use leads to communist thoughts and when nixon was president you did not want to be a communist…

The only way you should feel bad about smoking marijuana is if you feel bad that you have grass, or trees, or flowers growing in your front yard. 100% natural plants that cannot hurt you.

No dont feel bad, You are a good person

Is Marijuana Addictive?

The majority of pot smokers do not develop a marijuana addiction, but some smokers do develop all the symptoms of an actual addiction after chronic marijuana use.

Most marijuana users never come close to being addicted to weed. They do not lose control of its use; they generally use the amount they want to use and when they want to use it. When they use marijuana, they get the exact results they expect and intend to get.

But Marijuana Addiction Does Happen

But Marijuana Addiction Does Happen

The fact that most users never develop an addiction doesn’t mean that it never happens. Some marijuana users will exhibit all the classic behaviors of someone who has an addiction.

There is a difference between marijuana abuse and marijuana dependence. Marijuana abuse occurs when someone continues to use the drug despite negative consequences, such as losing a job, poor academic performance or getting arrested. If you continue to smoke marijuana in spite of continued negative consequences, by definition you are a substance abuser.

Interview with a 16 year old pothead : The Gopal Manuka reaches Bangalore , Karnataka

Weed is not addictive! That is just a myth. I have been smoking marijuana since I was 16 years old and I smoke at least three bowls a day and I’m not addicted! I can quit anytime. Just last week, when I ran out of weed, I quit for an entire day. Well, almost a day, says Yasir Rehman, a multinational company executive based in Upperpet, BL.

After about 18 hours I got anxious feeling and decided I just needed a toke to settle my nerves. I searched my entire house hoping that I could find some stash that I got paranoid and hid away and forgot about. But no luck.

Marijuana is medicine, it’s not harmful! That’s why so many USA’s states have legalized medical marijuana because it’s good for you. How can you say that a natural, God-given plant can been bad for your health? What’s that you say? Well, yeah, tobacco is a plant too, but that’s different. Somehow. I don’t know.

In the end Yasir added : All I know is I’m 45 years old and I’ve been smoking for around nineteen and a half yearsImageI and I’m in perfect health, except sometimes I have this really deep cough. But you would get a cough whatever you smoked, right? I don’t sleep as well on the days I don’t smoke pot, and I get headaches, but that’s not a big deal. At least it’s not as bad as alcohol.
